Description: A glacially carved crag and tail, ice flowed eastwards (to the left); rock is pyroxene-feldspar-phyric quartz-bearing basalt of late Carboniferous age that forms part of the Midland Valley Sill Complex; the steep face of Binny Craig is a dyke passing into a sill to the left intruded into the West Lothian Oil-shale Formation, Visean, Lower Carboniferous.
